The oak canopy through the older streets keeps walls damp long after a storm has passed, and the salt in the air keeps them from drying properly even on a clear day. Those two together are why the north elevation here tends to go first, and go faster.

The houses are a mix — older block-and-stucco cottages next to newer builds — and they do not all clean the same way. Older stucco is softer than it looks and wants a lower pressure and a longer dwell, so we check what we are working on before the first pass rather than after it.
