What soft washing is for

Anything that grows rather than lands. The green on shaded siding, the black streaks on a roof, the grime on a screen enclosure and the film on a painted fence are all organic, and they all have roots in the surface. Pressure knocks the top off and leaves the rest.

The solution does the work, so the pressure does not have to. We apply it, give it time, then rinse at roughly garden-hose force. Surfaces that would be damaged by a pressure tip — shingles, vinyl, aluminum, screen mesh, older stucco — come out clean without being touched hard.

It also lasts longer. Because the growth is killed rather than displaced, it takes months longer to come back than it would after a straight pressure wash.
